  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Ruled out for Game 5

Mitchell (calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 5 in Boston, Spencer Davies of SI.com reports. Mitchell will be joined on the sidelines by Caris LeVert (knee) and Jarrett Allen (ribs), leaving Cleveland quite thin going into a potential elimination game. Expect big minutes for Max Strus, Dean Wade and Sam Merrill, with Darius Garland and Evan Mobley doing the heavy lifting on offense.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Unlikely to play Wednesday

Mitchell (calf) is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Celtics, but he's not expected to play, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Mitchell has been spectacular in the playoffs and averaged 35.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 41.0 minutes over his last six appearances. However, he picked up a left calf strain during Game 3 and was sidelined for Cleveland's Game 4 loss. If Mitchell is unavailable again, Caris LeVert (knee) would likely start next to Darius Garland in the backcourt, while Sam Merrill may see an increased role off the bench.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Iffy for Game 5

Mitchell (calf) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Celtics. Mitchell is in danger of missing his second straight contest due to a left calf strain he suffered in Game 3. Caris LeVert started in Mitchell's absence Monday and played well but aggravated a lingering knee injury and is also questionable for Game 5.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Won't play Monday

Mitchell (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Mitchell had been stellar over his last six postseason appearances, averaging 35.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 35.3 minutes. However, he suffered a strained left calf during Game 3 and will be sidelined for a critical matchup in Cleveland. With Mitchell out, Caris LeVert may slide into the starting lineup at shooting guard, while Isaac Okoro, Sam Merrill and Marcus Morris are also candidates for increased offensive roles.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Not present at shootaround

Mitchell (calf) wasn't present for morning shootaround and remains questionable for Monday's Game 4 matchup with the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals round, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports. Mitchell is tending to a strained left calf, but it would be a major surprise if he wasn't cleared to play in advance of Monday's 7 p.m. ET tipoff. He didn't seem to be limited by the injury in the Cavaliers' 106-103 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 on Saturday, producing 33 points (12-22 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 43 minutes.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Iffy for Game 4

Mitchell is questionable for Monday's Game 4 against Boston with a strained left calf, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Mitchell seemingly picked up the injury during Cleveland's Game 3 loss, when he generated 33 points in 43 minutes of action. With Jarrett Allen (rib) also questionable, the Cavaliers could find themselves rather shorthanded for Monday's tilt. If Mitchell can't go, Caris LeVert would likely enter the first unit, while Isaac Okoro and Sam Merrill could see more minutes off the bench.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Leads offensively in Game 2 victory

Mitchell tallied 29 points (10-19 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds over 40 minutes in Thursday's 118-94 win over the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Mitchell led Cleveland offensively in a bounce-back performance in Game 2 to even the series with Boston, leading all players in the contest in scoring, threes made and assists while ending one point shy of the 30-point mark in the road game. Mitchell has done it all for the Cavaliers through two games against the Celtics, averaging 31 points so far in the conference semifinals. Mitchell posted his first game of the postseason with at least seven rebounds and seven assists, also setting his playoff high in threes made in the victory.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Puts up 33 points in Game 1 loss

Mitchell produced 33 points (12-25 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Mitchell carried the momentum he had from his epic Game 7 performance against the Magic on Sunday and surpassed the 30-point mark for the third straight game. However, the rest of his teammates didn't step up, and the Cavaliers suffered a devastating 25-point loss in the series opener. Mitchell should continue to post excellent numbers as the Cavaliers' go-to player on offense -- by a wide margin -- but there's a chance his mighty performances might not translate into wins as happened against the Magic in the previous round.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Carries Cleveland to Game 7 win

Mitchell finished Sunday's 106-94 win over the Magic in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 39 points (11-27 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 15-17 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 45 minutes. The Cavaliers needed Mitchell to step up and deliver a superstar performance in Game 7 against a rising Orlando team, and that's exactly what he accomplished with this outing. Mitchell had some ups and downs in the series but often stepped his game up when the Cavaliers needed him, something that will be even more needed against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Mitchell averaged 28.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in the first round while putting up at least 28 points in each of the last three contests.

Mitchell outscored the rest of the Cavaliers roster, dropping 50 points in the loss. He scored all of Cleveland's points in the final quarter. He is going to need more help on the offensive end should the Cavaliers hope to advance to the second round, where the Celtics await.

Mitchell scored all 18 points in the first half and went 0-for-4 from the field with four turnovers in the second half as Orlando cruised to a Game 4 victory, evening the series at 2-2. After totaling 53 points (20-43 FG) through the first two games in Cleveland, Mitchell scored only 31 points during the two losses in Orlando. Through four matchups, Mitchell has shot only 42.5 percent from the field.

Mitchell had scored a combined 53 points during the first two games of the series, but he was unable to keep that momentum going in Game 3. However, no Cleveland player scored more than 15 points, and Mitchell didn't see the court during most of the second half. The star guard will aim to bounce back in Game 4 of the series Saturday.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Top scorer in Game 2 victory

Mitchell tallied 23 points (9-22 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes in Cleveland's 96-86 win over Orlando in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series. Mitchell once again led Cleveland offensively in another victory in the opening-round series, finishing with a game-high scoring total while handing out a team-high-tying quartet of assists and ending two boards shy of a double-double. The Cavaliers will continue to ride Mitchell's offensive firepower in the postseason, with Mitchell posting at least 23 points in both games of the first round thus far.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Leads Cavs to Game 1 victory

The Cavaliers delivered a strong showing on both ends of the court Saturday and had several standout performers, but Mitchell made his presence felt in the scoring column with a game-high 30 points. Mitchell also surpassed the 30-point mark in his last regular-season appearance, and he'll aim to deliver another strong performance in Game 2 of the series Monday. After all, the Cavaliers will only go as far as Mitchell can carry them.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Good to go

Mitchell (knee) isn't listed on the Cavaliers' injury report for Game 1 of the first-round series against Orlando on Saturday. Mitchell will close the regular season with averages of 26.6 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 three-pointers and 1.8 steals in 35.3 minutes per game over 55 appearances.

Mitchell led all scorers with 33 points, helping the Cavaliers to a hard-fought victory. Having now secured the fourth seed, Cleveland is assured of a home playoff series, much to the delight of their fans. Mitchell returned to the starting lineup Wednesday after sitting Sunday's game against the Clippers due to left knee injury management. He led Cleveland in scoring and hit five three-point shots for the first time since Feb. 7 against the Wizards. Mitchell and the Cavaliers take on the Pacers on Friday in a pivotal Eastern Conference showdown that will impact which team gets home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Will play Wednesday

Mitchell (rest) is available for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies. Mitchell took a seat for Sunday's loss to the Clippers, which was the second night of a back-to-back set, due to left knee injury management, but as expected, he'll return to action Wednesday. The superstar hasn't been his usual dominant self, averaging only 14.3 points on 33.3 percent shooting over his last six appearances.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Sitting out Sunday

Mitchell won't play Sunday versus the Clippers due to left knee injury management. Since being shut down at the beginning of March with the knee injury and also missing time due to a fractured nose, Mitchell has struggled to regain the form he displayed earlier in the season. Over his six appearances dating back to March 13, Mitchell has averaged just 14.3 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks in 32.2 minutes while shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from downtown. Since his absence Sunday is being termed as injury management, Mitchell likely isn't dealing with a setback and may just be getting rest for the second leg of a back-to-back set. He should be back in action for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.
