Astros' Kyle Tucker: Still not doing on-field work
Tucker (lower leg) won't play in Saturday's game against Detroit and has yet to participate in on-field activities, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
There was initially optimism that Tucker would be able to return once eligible Friday, but a return doesn't seem imminent considering the 27-year-old hasn't resumed baseball activities yet and has already been ruled out for Saturday's game. The Astros could keep Tucker out through the weekend and activate him for a three-game road series against the White Sox that kicks off Tuesday.

Astros' Kyle Tucker: Unlikely to return Friday
The Astros announced Wednesday that Tucker (shin) isn't expected to be ready to return from the 10-day injured list Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Tucker is feeling better as he works his way back from a bruised right shin, but he hasn't yet resumed baseball activities and won't be ready for activation when first eligible. The Astros have mostly been using Trey Cabbage in right field against right-handers and Chas McCormick versus lefties since Tucker was shut down with the injury.

Astros' Kyle Tucker: Sheds crutches
Tucker (lower leg) is no longer using crutches and remains hopeful for a Friday return, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
As Rome points out, Tucker has yet to be cleared to resume baseball activities, but the team is optimistic about his chances of being activated after missing the 10-day minimum. Houston should have a better idea of an exact return date for Tucker later in the week.

Tucker is hopeful to return after the minimum 10 days on the injured list with a bruised right shin. He's been steadily improving since sustaining the injury and is down to using just one crutch after being seen Friday on two. Mauricio Dubon should handle most of the right field work until Tucker returns, though Joey Loperfido should get into the mix after recently being called up.

Tucker has been held out of action since he fouled a ball off his right shin during Monday's game against the Cardinals. Manager Joe Espada said Friday that Tucker is feeling much better since then, per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle, though the outfielder's recovery has progressed much slower than the team initially expected. His move to the IL is retroactive to Tuesday, which will allow him to potentially return next Friday for the start of Houston's weekend series with the Tigers.
