Altuve went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Angels.
Altuve's big hit of the day came with two outs in the sixth to cap off a four-run rally that put the Astros ahead 7-4. It was his first time with four hits in a game since Sept. 4, 2023, and it was his eighth time this year with three or more hits in a game. Altuve is now tied for fourth in the majors with 80 hits on the year and is putting together another strong campaign at the dish. He's slashing .297/.348/.454 with 10 homers, 25 RBI, 39 runs and an 18:53 BB:K in 290 plate appearances.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Notches steal Saturday
Altuve went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Angels.
Altuve has been steady but not outstanding over his last 15 games, going 17-for-61 (.279) with two steals, four RBI and five runs scored in that span. He hasn't homered since May 20, taking a bit of the wind out of his sails after a strong start to the year in the power department. Altuve went 0-for-9 over his previous two games, which marked the first time he'd been held hitless in consecutive contests all year. Friday's effort was his seventh three-hit effort of the campaign. The second baseman's consistency atop the Astros' order is impressive, though he hadn't produced a multi-hit effort since May 5. The 34-year-old is slashing .298/.354/.476 with nine home runs, 18 RBI, 33 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 50 games this season.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Pops first homer of May
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.
Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign, so there's little reason for concern about his slightly slower stretch of production.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Getting first day off of 2024
Altuve is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After being limited to playing in 90 games in 2023, Altuve is off to a healthy start to 2024. He's started in each of Houston's first 39 games, but he'll be on the bench Sunday in what looks to be a routine maintenance day. Mauricio Dubon will check in at second base for Altuve, who gets the day off while he's in the midst of a minor slump at the dish. Altuve had a productive day from the leadoff spot that included the go-ahead RBI in the seventh inning. He also stole his seventh bag of the season and third in his last two contests. Altuve has seven homers across 146 plate appearances and is batting .348, providing excellent production across the board.

Altuve went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to Atlanta.
The veteran second baseman racked up his fifth multi-hit performance over the last seven games, a stretch in which Altuve is batting a blistering .467 (14-for-30). He was hardly cold before that though, and he's failed to collect a hit in only one of his first 20 games. On the season, Altuve is slashing .388/.462/.675 with five homers, two steals, seven RBI and 15 runs scored.

Altuve touched up Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi for both of his blasts, leading off the bottom of the first with a shot to left, then adding a second blast in the third. He also got hit by a pitch.
